THE OKURA
TOKYO, JAPAN
Hotel | from 700€ per night
Our stay at The Okura was nothing short of extraordinary. It delivers everything you’d expect from a high-end hotel, but elevated with a uniquely Japanese sense of elegance and precision. The property is divided into two wings: The Prestige, modern and sleek, and The Heritage, more traditional but equally luxurious. We chose The Prestige for a full big-city vibe, and it was absolutely the right call for us.
Our room came with jaw-dropping views of the Tokyo skyline and Tokyo Tower, the kind of scenery you can happily lose an hour just staring at. The service was flawless, truly 10/10 with staff anticipating needs before we even expressed them.
The hotel’s design is spectacular, with meticulous attention to detail everywhere you look. One of our favorite touches was the stunning ikebana arrangement in the lobby, refreshed weekly and acting almost like a living symbol of the hotel’s devotion to detail. The location is perfect as well: central and convenient, yet calm and tucked among various embassies, offering a calm retreat from the city without ever feeling remote.
We also tried the pool overlooking the city, and swimming there at night with the skyline sparkling around us felt like a dream. The relaxation rooms were equally impressive. It’s a perfect way to unwind after a long day exploring Tokyo.
Breakfast deserves its own praise: one of the best we’ve ever had, both in quality and variety. Every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious.
Amenities were also top-notch: a spacious bathroom, super comfortable pajamas, and a charming surprise each night: a delicate origami left on our pillow. Small gestures like that make the experience feel warm and personal.
In short: if you can stay at The Okura, go, go, go. We can’t recommend it enough.
