Half-Day Experience
Mendoza Like A Local:
Horses, Wine & Asado
The Mendoza Journey
We experienced this day ourselves and loved it! Here is what it was actually like:
Our day started with a warm welcome from Facundo, Sebastián and Gonzalo who picked us up from our home. No taxi to a meeting point, no confusion. Just a friendly face at the door and a scenec drive into the mountains .
THE PICKUP
Up in the Andes, they introduced us to Jesús. He's a gaucho, a real one, not a performer or a guide in uniform. He lives up there with his horses and knows every path like it's his backyard, because it is. From the moment we met him, we felt in good hands.
THE ANDES
The ride itself was more relaxed than we expected. On our day the horses were calm and sure-footed, the path was beautiful, and there was no pressure to keep up or push through. A support vehicle followed along, which took the edge off for those of us who weren't born in the saddle. They gave us ponchos and traditional hats, and somehow, in that setting, it didn't feel like a prop. It just felt right.
HORSEBACK RIDING
Midway through the morning ride we stopped for an aperitivo in the middle of the mountains. Wine, air, silence. We could have stayed there for hours!
WINE WITH A VIEW
The ride continued through open Andean landscapes before finishing with an asado: a proper meat lunch cooked outdoors over a fire. Grilled meats (expect big portions), vegetables, more wine, good company. We came back with the best memories from this day. This is an experience we've recommended to everyone since!

Our Approach
Our experiences are about intimate cultural immersion in places we love. Each one is something we've personally done and genuinely enjoyed.
-
No, and that's the whole point. They're organised and delivered by independent local hosts, not a corporate office. We introduce you to them and handle the connection; the experience itself is theirs.
-
We've travelled to these places and done these experiences ourselves, so we can recommend them from genuine first-hand enjoyment rather than a brochure.
When you enquire, we check availability with the host and, once your booking fee is paid, put you directly in touch with them.
We only recommend our favourites.
-
The host. We believe the true experts are the people who live and breathe the destination.
By connecting you directly with local hosts and tastemakers, we shift the power away from large agencies and back into the hands of the community.
You deal directly with the people shaping their culture, ensuring they remain the primary narrators and beneficiaries of their own stories.
(Your contract for the experience is with them; please read the experience terms and our Terms & Conditions before you pay.)
